Tree Service Guide

Who keeps the wood after a tree removal?

You do, if you want it. If you do not, the crew hauls it away. The chips work the same way, and we sell firewood too.

Can I keep the firewood?

Yes. If you want the wood for your own stove or fire pit, say so on the estimate and we leave it cut. Say where you want it. Fresh-cut wood is green and heavy, and it needs a season or two of drying before it burns well.

If you do not want it, the crew cuts it up, chips the brush, and hauls it off. That is the normal job, and it is why the yard is clean when we leave.

Do tree removal companies sell the wood?

We sell seasoned firewood from our own tree work, cut and split to the length you want. Ask about availability when you call.

The wood from a yard tree is firewood or chips, not lumber. Leaving it with you saves the hauling. The climbing, the rigging, and the crew's day are still the job, so it does not become free. Ask on the estimate whether leaving the wood changes the price for your tree.

What about the wood chips?

Brush goes through the chipper into the truck. If you want chips left on site for paths or beds, say so and we leave them. Fresh chips are fine on a path or under shrubs. Keep them out of the hole where you want grass; that spot gets topsoil.

Settle it on the estimate

The easiest time to sort out the wood is when Jesse is standing in the yard with you: wood left or hauled, chips left or hauled, stump ground or not. It goes into the price, and the crew shows up knowing the plan. For big trees and tight spots, the same conversation covers crane or climber and where everything lands.

Questions

No. The cost of a removal is the crew, the gear, and the time in the tree. The wood is the smallest part. Keeping it can take the hauling off the job, and Jesse tells you on the estimate what that means for your price.

Yes. The stump stays unless you ask us to grind it. If you want it gone, we grind it below grade with topsoil and new grass over the top.
